Peak Chair
Starts at the very top of Whistler Peak and runs 11km all the way down to Creekside village — a completely separate base area from Whistler Village. You'll need to take the free shuttle bus or gondola back up. Worth every second.
11km and 5,000ft of vertical — one of the longest runs in North America. Wobbly legs guaranteed; cold beer at the bottom is mandatory.
7th Heaven Chair
On the Blackcomb side, accessed from the 7th Heaven Express. Sits in the high alpine zone above the treeline — you're skiing with nothing but sky and mountains around you.
Upper and lower sections bathed in late-afternoon light. Breathtaking views of Whistler Mountain across the valley. Go at golden hour.
Crystal Chair
On Blackcomb Mountain's mid-section, running parallel to the Glacier Creek area. Feeds back down to the base of the Blackcomb Gondola — easy to lap.
A series of wide-open rollers that guarantee a childlike grin at any speed. One of Blackcomb's most reliably groomed runs.
Harmony Express
On Whistler Mountain's west side, at high altitude above the bowl. The Harmony Express takes you from mid-mountain up to 6,600ft — this run flows back down into the Harmony Bowl area.
Slightly icy at the start, then magical fresh corduroy opens up with panoramic alpine views. Don't be put off by the first 200m.
Blackcomb Gondola
A mid-mountain Blackcomb run that runs roughly parallel to the gondola line — you can see skiers on it from the gondola. Deposits you near the base of the Jersey Cream chair.
The quintessential Blackcomb groomer — ideal for testing edge angles and carving wide, confident turns.
Jersey Cream Express
Above the Blackcomb base area on the lower mountain. The Jersey Cream chair is right off the Blackcomb Gondola mid-station — very easy to access from the village.
Hidden powder stashes if you're up first thing. Wide, welcoming, consistent local favourite.
7th Heaven Chair
High on Blackcomb's 7th Heaven area — one of the most exposed, above-treeline zones on the mountain. On a clear day you can see all the way to Vancouver Island.
Lives up to the name — 360° high-alpine views with a mellow pitch. Perfect afternoon carving lap.
Emerald Express (Whistler Peak)
Sidewinder is what Whistler intermediate skiing is famous for — a long, winding, perfectly groomed blue that makes the most of the mountain's extraordinary vertical. 5km+ from top to bottom, consistently wide, with views of the Coastal Range throughout. Accessed by the Emerald Express from mid-Whistler.
This is the run that sells Whistler to intermediate skiers. 5km of consistent groomed blue in one uninterrupted descent — there's almost nothing like it in North America. On a clear day the views of the Coastal Mountains are extraordinary. Lap it three times and you've skied 15km.
Peak Express (Whistler summit area)
Green Line is the run that takes you from near Whistler's summit (1,530m vertical above the village) on an easy descent. It's the answer to the question 'can intermediate skiers experience the top of Whistler?' — yes, via this run. Wide, consistently groomed, properly blue.
Taking Green Line from near the summit is one of the great moderate-skiing experiences in North America. You're at the top of one of the continent's biggest ski mountains on a run that never intimidates. The views are extraordinary. On a clear day you can see the Pacific Coast.
Franz's Chair or Solar Coaster (Blackcomb)
Franz's Run is the spine of Blackcomb Mountain — a continuous 7km blue that runs from near the Blackcomb Glacier all the way to the Blackcomb base. It's named after Franz Wilhelmsen, Whistler Blackcomb's founder. The most complete intermediate skiing experience on Blackcomb.
Seven kilometres in a single continuous descent — Franz's Run is one of the longest intermediate runs in North America. Plan a full morning for Blackcomb and ski Franz's as your anchor. The solar aspect means it gets good afternoon sun but can soften quickly — go early for the best conditions.
Purpose-built ski village with a car-free main street, world-class restaurants, and a mountain culture that survived the 2010 Olympics with its soul intact.
Lively village · Ski-in/ski-out · Great après-ski
Stay in Whistler Village or Upper Village for direct mountain access. Creekside is quieter and cheaper — only 10 minutes by gondola.
