Vorab cable car (via Crap Sogn Gion gondola)
The Vorab Glacier is the highest point of the entire ski area at 3,018m, reached by taking any gondola to Crap Sogn Gion and then the Vorab cable car. From there, wide blue pistes (32 & 33) descend gently across the glacier plateau toward Plaun at 2,228m. This is the most snow-sure part of the resort — 70% of the slopes are above 2,000m.
Wide open glacier blues at 3,000m with total panoramic views. Reliably excellent snow from December to April. The gentlest consistent gradient in the resort — long, low-gradient, and high altitude. Exactly the kind of run that is surprisingly easy to find yourself on for a full morning without wanting to stop.
Arenaexpress gondola (Flims base)
Stretg is the valley run from Grauberg (2,200m) through forest all the way to Flims base at 1,100m — a 1,100m vertical descent over several kilometres. The upper section is wide and open; the lower section winds through trees and gets narrower. Together with the glacier blues above, this forms part of the famous 17km top-to-bottom route.
The most rewarding descent in the resort for intermediates — a genuine top-to-bottom run from the high mountain to the village. Best in the morning when the lower forest section is still firm. Combine with the Vorab Glacier Blues above for an epic full-mountain day.
Crap Sogn Gion gondola (any base station)
Alp Dado sits in the middle of the ski area around 2,200m, easily reached from any of the three base stations via the Crap Sogn Gion gondola. It is in the sheltered hollow between the main peaks — sunny, quiet, and consistently gentle. One of the best-known easy runs in the resort.
The gentlest, most consistently easy blue in the main ski area. Perfect if the glacier or valley run feels too ambitious. Fine views over the Rhine valley on clear days and reliably well-groomed. Often less busy than the main piste network.
Crap Sogn Gion gondola (Laax Murschetg base)
Start from the Crap Sogn Gion summit station at 2,228m and ski the wide blue directly toward Laax Murschetg base. It is the most direct, most-skied easy blue in the resort — ideal as a first run of the day or as a confidence builder. The run is wide and well-maintained with views of the valley the entire way down.
A perfect warm-up run and a confidence builder. Wide, well-groomed, consistently easy gradient. Panoramic views throughout. Often recommended to progressing beginners who have outgrown the nursery slopes — the easiest way to feel like you are really skiing in the Alps.
Crap Sogn Gion gondola (any base)
Nagens is one of the main intermediate blues in the central Laax ski area, running through the mid-mountain terrain accessible from all three base stations via the Crap Sogn Gion gondola. It's the most direct blue route down through the central area of the resort.
The main mid-mountain blue circuit in Laax — reliably well-groomed and consistently pitched. Part of the 17km route from glacier to valley if you combine it with the Vorab and Stretg runs. One of the most-skied blues in the resort.
Arenaexpress gondola (Flims base)
Plaun is the mid-station of the Arenaexpress gondola at 2,228m — the main hub between the glacier above and the valley below. The blue runs around Plaun are wide, open, and very well-maintained. This is where the gentle glacier blues from Vorab arrive before continuing down to Flims.
The perfect regrouping point in Laax — the plateau here is flat enough to stop and take in the panoramic views before either heading higher to the glacier or continuing down to the valley. The blues around Plaun are the most consistently gentle in the resort.
Grauberg chairlift (mid-mountain, Flims side)
Grauberg is in the Flims sector of the ski area at around 2,200m. The Grauberg chairlift serves an area of wide open intermediate terrain with good views toward the Rhine valley below. Part of the longer Stretg valley descent that runs all the way to Flims village.
One of the best mid-mountain blues in Laax — wide, consistently groomed, and with good views across the Rhine valley. A key section of the top-to-bottom 17km descent from the Vorab glacier to Flims village.
Curnius chairlift (Laax Murschetg area)
The Curnius chairlift is in the lower part of the ski area above Laax Murschetg base station. The blue here is wide, accessible, and a good first run of the day before heading to the Crap Sogn Gion gondola for the higher terrain. Visible from the Laax village base.
The easiest run above Laax Murschetg base — a good warm-up run for the first morning and the last run of the day when you're heading back to the village. Reliably well-groomed and never intimidating.
La Siala chairlift (Crap Masegn area)
La Siala is a mid-mountain area connecting the Laax and Flims sectors. The blues here run across a wide plateau with views of both base villages and the surrounding peaks of the Graubünden Alps. Less trafficked than the main Crap Sogn Gion area.
A good alternative to the main circuits — quieter and with different views. The Graubünden mountain landscape is spectacular here with the distinctive grey limestone peaks characteristic of this part of Switzerland.
Cassons gondola (from Flims base)
The Cassons gondola climbs from Flims to the Cassons summit at 2,675m — a spectacular high point above the famous Rhine gorge. The blue run from here descends back toward the Plaun mid-station with extraordinary views of the gorge below. Cassons is actually outside the main ski area and has its own separate gondola.
One of the most dramatic locations in the entire Laax ski area — the view from Cassons toward the Rhine gorge (the 'Grand Canyon of Switzerland') is genuinely spectacular. The blue descent is wide and manageable throughout. Worth riding the gondola even if you only do the run once.
Foppa gondola (from Flims village)
The Foppa gondola is a smaller, older gondola that goes from Flims village directly up to the mid-mountain at 1,847m — a quick way to access the lower ski area without riding the main Arenaexpress. The blues from Foppa are in the sheltered forest area above the village.
The quickest way onto the mountain from Flims village. The blues here are gentle and tree-lined — a good escape on poor weather days and a quiet alternative to the main Arenaexpress circuit.
Startgels chairlift (Laax Murschetg area)
The Startgels chairlift is in the lower Laax sector, connecting the Murschetg base area with the upper mountain gondola network. The blue run here is a good intermediate connector that links the bottom of the resort to the main ski area.
A useful connector run for exploring the full Laax circuit. Well-groomed, consistent gradient, and gives good access to the Crap Sogn Gion gondola for heading higher.
Flims is the quieter, more traditional Swiss village — old buildings, excellent restaurants, ideal for families. Laax Murschetg is the modern freestyle base with the rocksresort and livelier bars. Both are at the gondola base; Flims is calmer, Laax is more social.
Traditional village · Freestyle scene · Family-friendly
Stay in Flims for a quieter, more Swiss-feeling base. Stay in Laax Murschetg if you want to be at the gondola door.
