01Get to know one good lap

La Cha

Les Houches / Prarion · France

Official blue piste
Piste video
Les Houches Chamonix - La Cha Ski Trail (Piste) Video - Super fun & easy blue trail ! — Next Outdoor Adventures™ Original on YouTube ↗
About this clip

The creator title and description identify La Cha at Les Houches. The description dates filming to March 2023; it is not current conditions evidence.

Creator labels and embedding checked 2026-10-19. This is a preview, rather than a live conditions report.

A useful place to settle into a rhythm: take the named blue towards Mélèzes, come back on the chair and try it again. Restaurant La Cha gives the group a meeting place for a break instead of turning the day into a tour of the valley.

Get on
Prarion gondola → the signed La Cha blue → Mélèzes chair.
Get back
Repeat on Mélèzes, then return to Prarion for the gondola ride down.
Worth knowing
Expect a mountain blue, with some shorter steeper sections. Plan du Crêt and Plancerts below are red; keep the chairlift as the bottom of your lap.

02A blue that brings you back to base

Finance

Saint-Gervais / Le Bettex · France

Saint Gervais La Finance Slope 💙💙 19 2 2026 — Miguel Salome Original on YouTube ↗
About this clip

The creator dates this La Finance descent to 19 February 2026.

Creator labels and embedding checked 2026-10-21. This is a preview, rather than a live conditions report.

The straightforward plan is the attraction here: go up from Le Bettex, follow Finance back to Le Bettex, then decide whether you want another lap or a break. You can try the separate Marmottons learning area first if you need to get your ski legs back.

Get on
Bettex–Mont d’Arbois gondola → follow the blue Finance signs downhill.
Get back
The ski run returns to Le Bettex, where the gondola starts.
Worth knowing
At the Crête junction, La Crête is a separate red option. Stay with the Finance signs, and remember that Le Bettex is above Saint-Gervais town.

Chamois

About this clip

Chamois at Les Houches. The creator does not provide a filming date.

Creator labels and embedding checked 2026-10-21. This is a preview, rather than a live conditions report.

Already enjoyed a Prarion lap and want to look at another blue without changing ski areas? Chamois is a second named option in the Prarion–Mélèzes sector. Watch the clip alongside La Cha and choose which one you want to get to know first.

Get on
Prarion gondola → the signed Chamois blue in the Mélèzes sector.
Get back
Use Mélèzes for another lap; finish via the Prarion gondola.
Worth knowing
This is a mountain blue rather than the learning slope beside Prarion. The red lower continuations are outside the repeat-lap plan.

04For a little more exploring

Clémentines

Saint-Nicolas / Les Chattrix · France

Official blue piste
Piste video
Piste de Clémentine — Domaine Skiable Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc Original on YouTube ↗
About this clip

A short official resort preview of Clémentines toward Saint-Nicolas-de-Véroce. Published April 2017; the filming date is not given.

Creator labels and embedding checked 2026-10-21. This is a preview, rather than a live conditions report.

A short official resort film gives you a look at this Saint-Nicolas-side blue before you commit to the outing. Choose it when you are comfortable with blue links and a drag lift, and want to explore a different sector rather than stay with one base-to-base lap.

Get on
Chattrix chair → blue Petit Choucas → Croix du Christ chair → Clémentines.
Get back
Lap Croix du Christ, or return towards Chattrix using Gouet, Cabri and Les Chattrix.
Worth knowing
It ends by the Christ chair, not at Le Bettex or the car. The Gouet drag lift is part of the return plan to Chattrix; check that the whole circuit is open.

05Bigger mountain scenery, a step up

Blanchots

Chamonix / Planpraz · France

Official blue piste
Piste video
Blue piste Blanchots Le Brévent, Chamonix-Mont-Blanc | Piste View — Piste View Original on YouTube ↗
About this clip

The creator title and description identify Blanchots at Le Brévent. The page supports this run association; footage was not sampled.

Creator labels and embedding checked 2026-10-19. This is a preview, rather than a live conditions report.

For skiers who already enjoy blues and want the high-mountain setting above Chamonix. Keep the outing around Planpraz and the Parsa chair, with a gondola ride home, instead of adding a steep descent to town just because it is downhill.

Get on
Planpraz gondola → Parsa sector; Plateau 2000 is a separate warm-up option.
Get back
Green Retour Planpraz → upper gondola station → ride down to Chamonix.
Worth knowing
One newer skier found a long steeper section surprising. The higher Brévent summit cable car leads towards black Charles Bozon and is not needed for this outing.

My trip shortlist →
One base, a good few laps, a proper break

Make a day of one place.

La Cha and Chamois share the Prarion starting point. Finance is a separate Le Bettex outing, and Clémentines uses the Saint-Nicolas side. Blanchots starts from Planpraz in Chamonix. This is a choice of ski days, rather than a connected five-run itinerary.

Where to go, and how to get there

A lift base is a better destination
than a resort name.

All five blues are in France, beyond Geneva. Choose one starting point for the day. The pins below mark departure lifts or parking, rather than the pistes on the mountain.

Directions open in Google Maps. Select your travel date there; mountain lift schedules are a separate check.

Chamonix Valley, France

Prarion gondola · Les Houches

117 Place du Prarion, 74310 Les Houches

About 1 hour from Geneva Airport to the Chamonix Valley; add winter traffic and the stop at your lift base.

Arriving by road

Follow the A40 / Autoroute Blanche towards the Chamonix Valley and set your destination to Prarion in Les Houches. Choose Prarion, rather than the separate Bellevue lift. Parking is available; check the signed tariff when you arrive.

From here to the run

Take Prarion up. Warm up in its separate learning area, then follow La Cha or Chamois towards the Mélèzes chair.

At the end of the day

Use Mélèzes to return uphill, then head back to Prarion and ride the gondola down. Ask for the last downhill passenger time at the start of the day.

Évasion Mont-Blanc, France

Le Bettex · Saint-Gervais

4383 route du Bettex, 74170 Saint-Gervais-les-Bains

Around 1 hour from Geneva to Saint-Gervais; Le Bettex is another stage above the town.

Arriving by road

Use the A40 valley approach to Saint-Gervais / Le Fayet, then choose between driving up to Le Bettex and parking below for the cable-car connections. A navigation result for Saint-Gervais town is not the departure of Bettex–Mont d’Arbois.

From here to the run

At Le Bettex, take Bettex–Mont d’Arbois. Finance is the named blue back towards this same ski base; Les Marmottons is a separate learning area near the top.

At the end of the day

Finance returns to Le Bettex. If you arrived via the valley cable cars, keep L’Alpin and Le Valléen operating times in your return plan; Le Bettex is not the railway station.

Chamonix Valley, France

Planpraz gondola · Chamonix / Brévent

29 Route Henriette d’Angeville, 74400 Chamonix-Mont-Blanc

About 1 hour from Geneva Airport to Chamonix in the tourist-office reference; allow extra for winter traffic, parking and getting to the lift.

Arriving by road

Use the A40 / Autoroute Blanche to Chamonix and navigate to the Planpraz departure at the Brévent base. The operator lists paid parking here. You do not need to travel through the Mont Blanc Tunnel to reach Chamonix from Geneva.

From here to the run

Ride Planpraz to 2,000m and stay with the Parsa sector. Plateau 2000 offers a separate warm-up before trying Blanchots.

At the end of the day

Take the green Retour Planpraz connection to the upper gondola station, then ride down. The separate Brévent summit cable car is not part of this blue-run plan.

Saint-Gervais, Évasion Mont-Blanc, France

Les Chattrix · Saint-Nicolas de Véroce

Parking des Chattrix, impasse des Biches, 74170 Saint-Gervais-les-Bains

Reach Saint-Gervais first, then continue towards Saint-Nicolas de Véroce. Allow more time than an airport-to-town transfer quote.

Arriving by road

Navigate to Les Chattrix on the Saint-Nicolas de Véroce side. This is a different departure point from Le Bettex: choose your parking and ski hire around the actual chairlift you intend to use.

From here to the run

Ride the Chattrix chair, then follow blue Petit Choucas towards Croix du Christ. Use that second chair to reach Clémentines.

At the end of the day

Clémentines finishes in the Christ bowl. For Les Chattrix, the return uses the Gouet drag lift, blue Cabri and blue Les Chattrix; it is a multi-lift outing, not a direct descent to the car.

The road figures are tourist-office references to the valley or town, not door-to-lift promises. Allow for the final connection, parking, winter weather and holiday traffic. Check the Léman Express network ↗ · Plan a dated rail journey ↗

If you are still finding your feet

A learning slope can be
the right first stop.

There is no need to make a mountain blue the first run of your holiday. These practice areas give you somewhere to warm up before deciding what comes next.

Les Marmottons · Saint-Gervais

Practice slopes with a covered carpet and drag lift near the top of Bettex–Mont d’Arbois. Use them before deciding on Finance.

Plan your Saint-Gervais start →
The questions that make the day work

Before you choose.

Which would you choose for a relaxed first outing?

For someone already linking blue-run turns, La Cha offers a repeatable chairlift lap, while Finance has a clear finish at its starting ski base. Watch both and choose the setting you like. Blanchots is the progression option here; Clémentines adds more blue links and a drag-lift return.

Can I do this without hiring a car?

Le Bettex has the clearest rail-and-lift chain in this shortlist: Le Fayet station, Le Valléen, L’Alpin, then Bettex–Mont d’Arbois. The Chamonix Valley also has train and transfer options, with a local connection to Prarion or Planpraz. Use the transport selector above, check your actual date and work backwards from the final return connection.

What about the Jura and Col de la Faucille?

Mijoux–La Faucille is a shorter-travel alternative: the tourist office puts it about 30 km from Geneva Airport. The operator lists Myrtilles at La Faucille in its initiation offer. We are still building a reliable named-piste guide there; for now check live openings and confirm the right learning area with the operator.

Official Mijoux–La Faucille information ↗ · Operator’s domains and initiation areas ↗
How do I know which pass or lesson to book?

Use the departure point and ski area in this guide when asking the lift team or ski school. Les Houches and Brévent have different access; Le Bettex and Les Chattrix are different bases in Évasion Mont-Blanc. Say the exact piste and lift names, and confirm the lifts you need for the return before buying.
