Chamonix for nervous intermediates
The valley has several separate ski areas. A blue piste does not establish an easy approach, lift or return.
Begin with an appropriate learning area
The tourist office identifies La Vormaine at Le Tour as a beginner area with green learning slopes and a blue forest piste. This is an area, not one run or a long mountain cruise. Check which specific slope suits your current level.

A named blue is a starting point for investigation
These are mapped blue pistes with source-linked profiles. They are not an easiest-run ranking, and no numeric comfort score has been assigned.

Check the way back separately
The official Balme map marks the Charamillon descent to Le Tour red. The Brévent–Flégère map marks the Flégère valley descent black; Retour Flégère is an upper-mountain blue link. Confirm lift descent options and the precise return plan with the operator.

Leave room to change your plan
Ask staff or an instructor about current snow, visibility, grooming and traffic. If a route feels wrong for your level, use an appropriate alternative; confirm any lift-down option before relying on it.
